A major effort by the Foundation for a much needed restoration…

The Foundation’s Cornerstone Campaign Wrap-Up

Launched in 1988 for the purpose of providing funds for the much-needed renovation of the Civil Courts Building, the Cornerstone Campaign saw its completion in (year) with contributions totaling more than $750,000. On behalf of the legal community, the St. Louis Bar Foundation Board of Directors thanks the many generous donors – individual lawyers, law firms, and friends – for their wholehearted support. Of the many volunteers who donated their time, leadership and effort to ensure the campaign’s success, the Foundation extends a special thanks to Michael Pitzer and Francis Duda, co-chairs of the Cornerstone Committee. Because of the commitment of volunteers and donors, the Civil Courts Building will continue to stand as a symbol of legal and judicial integrity and the quest for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the law.

Civil Courts Building Restoration

The Foundation and the St. Louis City Circuit Courts have cooperated in continued monitoring of the Civil Courts Building restoration with approximately $566,000 currently being held in Foundation Cornerstone Campaign investments. The Foundation board meets regularly with representatives from the courts to arrive at the most beneficial utilization of these monies. Recently, the board approved expenditures for design work for 14 courtroom rough-ins to accommodate technology for “Courtrooms of the Future” and design work for public concourse air conditioning.
